Perrin Whimpress


Community Services
Perrin Whimpress has been practicing and teaching in healthcare, community service and mental health for over 30 years. He brings a depth of applied industry knowledge and helps people understand how they can shift their perception from a traditional illness model to one of building long-term resilience and well being.

Perrin has significant experience in all aspects of teaching wellbeing and applied mental health care.

He has taught extensively in rural and remote Australia, including Aboriginal Health Care Workers.

Perrin has vast experience as an educator and coordinator for many private RTO’s, as well as TAFE(SA), University of South Australia and Charles Darwin University.

Most recently he was the Director of Operations for The Junction Clubhouse Cairns, a community mental health NGO in tropical far north Queensland, and currently teaches vocational education and training (CHC qualifications) for Upskilled, specialising in online education.

His teaching and mental health nursing experience includes both acute and community services, ranging from Older Person’s and Forensic Mental Health to Intermediate Care Community Services, Mental Health Triage, Child and Youth Mental Health, Neurology/Neurosurgery, in addition to General Medical and Surgical Nursing, in senior clinician, management, clinical facilitation and education roles.

His qualifications include: 

  • Masters of Applied Positive Psychology
  • Graduate Diploma of Mental Health Nursing
  • Graduate Diploma of Nursing
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
