  • Course structure

    The standard course is conducted over a 12 month period; within a self-paced online learning environment. 

    Upskilled will gather information about your previous experience and skills, weekly study commitment and online learning experience to provide you with an projected duration for your course based on your individual circumstance. 

    Upskilled uses MyUpskilled to manage the delivery and assessment of your course. This means you can learn at your own pace.

  • Entry requirements

    Entry to this qualification is limited to those who:

    Have completed a Bachelor degree in related fields of study.

    or

    Have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma qualification in related fields of study and 2 years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience at a significant level of leadership and management responsibility and/or complexity in an enterprise.

    or 

    Have three years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience at a significant level of leadership and management responsibility and/or complexity in an enterprise.

    Target audience for this programme is; existing Managers that wish to further develop, or formalise their skills by gaining a Graduate Certificate.  As a guide, participants would have 5 years or more experience working in a management role or hold an Advanced Diploma in a related discipline.  This programme would also suit participants wishing to gain entry to University in a Management or Leadership discipline.

    This qualification supports workforce diversity leadership and management roles. Individuals undertaking this qualification will typically be managing complex organisational activity, including tending to the training needs of others and promoting continuous process improvements, with full delegatory authority, in the capacity of a manager or a leader.

    This qualification reflects the role of skilled operators who apply a broad range of competencies in professional work contexts, using discretion and judgement and relevant researched theoretical knowledge.

    This qualification focuses on making provision for inclusivity to ensure that training, employment and promotional opportunities are provided to all cohorts of the Australian population.

    To ensure participants are able to seamlessly access our online learning platform and video content, they will require access to a modern computer with high-speed internet. Participants will also need to possess basic computing skills, and may be required to complete a Language Literacy and Numeracy skills assessment before enrolment can be confirmed.

    Work experience or formal qualifications you have may count towards your course. If you have previously undertaken study at a recognised institution or have some relevant work experience, you might gain credit towards specific units in a course; shortening the time you have to study. You can send your application for Credit Transfer or RPL during the enrolment process.
  • Assessment
    Upskilled takes evidence gathered from a variety of sources to deem a student as competent. Assessment processes might include some or all of the following:
    • Recognition of Prior Learning and/or credit transfer
    • summative and formative assignments

    This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to conduct high level strategic diversity workforce planning for an organisation. This includes developing objectives and strategies, implementing initiatives and monitoring and evaluating trends and processes. It focuses on making provision for inclusivity to ensure that training, employment and promotional opportunities are provided to all cohorts of the Australian population in an attempt to actively leverage diversity in the workplace. This unit also covers the research associated with labour markets, labour market programs and the requirement to match organisational needs with employee skills and knowledge. It applies to individuals who assess factors that may affect the supply of workers; align workforce objectives with business plans; and design strategies and succession plans to ensure a competent and appropriately diverse workforce is available to meet anticipated changes.

    Conduct strategic planning for diversity learning practices

    This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to plan, implement and review organisational diversity strategies and the quality of training and assessment products and services for its implementation. This unit focuses on valuing and actively leveraging diversity in the workplace. It applies to individuals who plan, design, implement, monitor and review diversity learning strategies at an organisational level.

    This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to influence and shape the development of organisational culture, structures and processes to maximise the strategic advantages of a diverse workforce. It includes influencing organisational culture, providing strategic direction in diversity management and formulating strategic diversity priorities. It applies to individuals who use cognitive and creative skills to review, critically analyse, consolidate and synthesise knowledge, in order to generate ideas and provide solutions to complex problems. They use communication skills to demonstrate their understanding of theoretical concepts and to transfer knowledge and ideas to others.
