  • What is Skills Checkpoint?

A
The Skills Checkpoint program is designed to help older workers find a new way forward and is an initiative of the Department of Education, Skills and Employment.

The Australian Government will invest $17.4 million into the program over four years. This is to provide Australians aged 40 and over with guidance on transitioning into new career opportunities, or up-skilling advice for their current roles.

Accessible to both employers and individuals looking for support, career assessment and one-on-one support through a career guidance officer is offered at no cost.

Participants can also access subsidised funding for courses, with a 50-75% co-contribution on vocational courses (up to a maximum of $2,200).
