There are no exams in the duration of the course, however, there are assignments and assessments that must be successfully completed.

Assessments can take be formative and summative, or diagnostic. While diagnostic assessments are taken to determine one’s entry qualifications into a programme, formative and summative assignments take place various times throughout the unit, and can take the form of written tests, projects, assessor observation or provision of evidence. These assignments are then graded as ‘competent’ or ‘not yet competent’, clearly determining the student’s ability to perform the task within their industry’s context.

Students may also be required to undertake work placement as part of their course assessments. These placements are provided by a third party.

Should you fail to demonstrate competency in a given assessment task, you are provided one more chance to re-attempt the assessment without having to re-enrol in the course.
