Australia’s Skills Challenges to be Taken on by New Industry Led Agency

The Federal Government recently announced the creation of the Australian Workforce and Productivity Agency (AWPA), which will be driven predominantly by industry representatives with the main objective of building skills and boosting productivity.

The agency will be closely linked to Skills Australia and play a key role in the allocation of the $700 million National Workforce Development Fund which was established to support industry in developing and improving the skills of their employees. The creation of this agency is a key initiative in bridging the gap between Government and industry.
