Unique student identifier

For a USI to be valid, the personal details recorded against it must match your current ID. If you have changed your name since the USI was created, only you are able to update this information via the USI website (https://www.usi.gov.au/).

By completing this enrolment form, you are granting Upskilled permission to verify the details of, search for, or if necessary create, your USI. This process requires the use of information obtained from ID documents issued by a branch of Australian government.

REGARDING THE UNIQUE STUDENT IDENTIFIER
Students often need to provide evidence of their academic achievements, for example when applying for a job or to undertake further study. The Unique Student Identifier (USI) provides students with the ability to obtain a complete record of their Vocational Education and Training (VET) enrolments and achievements since 2015 from a single online source. This can be in the form of a full transcript of all of the accredited VET training they have undertaken since the USI came into effect, or an extract of that showing the particular achievements they consider relevant.

A student must provide a valid USI, verified against their current ID, to their training provider before a Statement of Attainment or other documentation of qualification can be issued. It is also required when applying for government financial assistance towards completing study. Although training organisations can with the student's permission apply for a USI on their behalf, as it is solely the student's responsibility to maintain the accuracy and currency of their USI details, it is preferable for students to create USI themselves..

Further information about the USI, including the process of consolidating multiple accounts created in error, is provided by the Department of Industry and is available at the USI Website - https://www.usi.gov.au/
