Paul Gompels

Paul is a senior finance executive with over 25 years' experience in commercial finance and public accounting, gained with PwC. He has worked across a broad range of industries and organisations, most recently as CFO of APC Education Group, the largest privately owned college for international students in Australia, serving the ELICOS and VET sector. Prior to that, Paul held senior finance executive roles at prominent listed corporates, including Wolters Kluwer, Thomson Reuters, and SAI Global, organisations focused on delivering online content and SaaS application solutions to their respective markets.

Paul brings deep expertise in financial strategy, governance, and commercial decision-making, developed through decades of leadership in both high-growth and complex operating environments. His background in public accounting provides a strong foundation in financial rigour, compliance, and stakeholder reporting.

As CFO of Upskilled, Paul partners with the leadership team to drive growth, profitability, and operational efficiency through sound financial strategy, strong governance, and decision-support fundamentals. He is responsible for managing the company's finances, including financial planning, risk management, record-keeping, and financial reporting. A key part of his role involves analysing and implementing strategic initiatives across the business, ensuring that financial insights are embedded into decision-making at every level of the organisation.
