What you need to know

Microsoft classifies DP-600 as an advanced course, and it assumes your team already works with data every day. Participants should be comfortable translating business requirements into analytical measures using SQL or DAX, and ideally have built semantic models and reports in Power BI. Familiarity with KQL and Python is useful but not essential. Across four days your team covers the same material Microsoft sets for the DP-600 certification path, applied to scenarios that look like your own environment.

On completing the course your team will be prepared to sit Exam DP-600, the single requirement for the Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate certification. The exam runs for 100 minutes and is proctored through Pearson VUE, and an exam voucher is included with this course. Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course. It is an advanced level course, though, and your team will get considerably more out of it with the following experience:

  • Working knowledge of SQL or DAX, and experience turning business requirements into analytical measures.
  • Experience building semantic models and reports in Power BI.
  • Familiarity with Kusto Query Language (KQL) and Python is helpful but not required.
  • Access to a Microsoft Fabric environment at work is recommended, so what your team learns transfers straight back into your own tenant.
