Implement Data Engineering Solutions Using Microsoft Fabric DP-700T00
Course Overview
Equip your data engineering team to build and run enterprise scale data solutions on Microsoft Fabric. DP-700T00 is a four day instructor led course covering the loading patterns, data architectures and orchestration processes behind a reliable analytics platform.
Delivered as dedicated group training for your organisation, the course moves from ingestion through to operations: loading data with Dataflows Gen2 and pipelines, working with Apache Spark and Delta Lake, organising a lakehouse using medallion architecture, handling streaming data with Real-Time Intelligence, and then securing, monitoring and administering the environment. It also prepares your team for the Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate certification.
Why should you do this course?
- Build the in house capability to design and deploy data engineering solutions for enterprise scale analytics.
- Replace ad hoc data loading with repeatable ingestion, transformation and orchestration patterns your whole team follows.
- Prepare your data professionals for the Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate certification, with the exam voucher included.
- Bring streaming and batch data into one platform, so real time dashboards and historical reporting draw on the same governed source.
- Cut the time spent firefighting by applying CI/CD, monitoring and access control to your data estate from the start.
What will you learn?
- Ingest and process data using Dataflows Gen2, pipelines, Apache Spark and KQL databases.
- Implement a lakehouse and organise it using medallion architecture design.
- Work with Delta Lake tables and understand how they underpin reliable analytics.
- Build real time solutions with Eventstream, Eventhouse, Real-Time Dashboards and Activator.
- Load, query, monitor and secure a Microsoft Fabric data warehouse.
- Apply CI/CD, monitoring, security and administration across a Microsoft Fabric environment.
Who is this course for?
- Data engineers and ETL developers who already extract, transform and load data.
- Data professionals with SQL, PySpark or KQL experience moving onto Microsoft Fabric.
- Teams consolidating scattered pipelines onto a single enterprise analytics platform.
- Data professionals in your organisation preparing to sit the DP-700 exam.
- Platform and operations staff who will monitor, secure and administer the Fabric environment.
What you need to know
This course is aimed at data professionals with existing data integration and orchestration experience, not at newcomers to data work. Participants should be comfortable manipulating and transforming data with at least one of SQL, PySpark or KQL. Over four days your team covers the material Microsoft sets for the DP-700 certification path, and works through it hands on in a lab environment rather than by watching demonstrations.
What's Next?
On completing the course your team will be prepared to sit Exam DP-700, the single requirement for the Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate certification. The exam runs for 100 minutes and is proctored through Pearson VUE, and an exam voucher is included with this course. Microsoft also publishes a free practice assessment on the certification page. View the certification details on Microsoft Learn.
Microsoft role based certifications expire unless they are renewed. Renewal is free and is done through a short online assessment on Microsoft Learn.

Course Structure
This course covers 22 modules across 5 topic areas:
1. Ingesting data with Microsoft Fabric
Get data into Fabric reliably, using dataflows, pipelines, Spark and eventhouses, and orchestrate the movement between them.
- Ingest Data with Dataflows Gen2 in Microsoft Fabric
- Orchestrate processes and data movement with Microsoft Fabric
- Use Apache Spark in Microsoft Fabric
- Work with real-time data in an Eventhouse in Microsoft Fabric
2. Implementing a lakehouse
Stand up a lakehouse, work with Delta Lake tables, and organise the whole thing using medallion architecture so raw, refined and curated data stay separate.
- Introduction to end-to-end analytics using Microsoft Fabric
- Get started with lakehouses in Microsoft Fabric
- Work with Delta Lake tables in Microsoft Fabric
- Organize a Fabric lakehouse using medallion architecture design
3. Real-Time Intelligence
Ingest, transform and analyse streaming data, then surface it on live dashboards and trigger action automatically when thresholds are crossed.
- Get started with Real-Time Intelligence in Microsoft Fabric
- Use Eventstream in Microsoft Fabric
- Create Real-Time Dashboards with Microsoft Fabric
- Use Activator in Microsoft Fabric
4. Implementing a data warehouse
Work through the warehousing process end to end: loading, querying, monitoring and securing a warehouse in Microsoft Fabric.
- Get started with data warehouses in Microsoft Fabric
- Load data into a Microsoft Fabric data warehouse
- Query a data warehouse in Microsoft Fabric
- Get started with Copilot in Microsoft Fabric for Data Warehouse

Roles this course supports
Skills from this course map to the following roles in your organisation:
Data Engineer
Analytics Engineer
ETL Developer
Data Platform Engineer
Data Warehouse Developer
Entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this course, but it is written for people who already work with data. Your team will get the most from it with:
- Experience with data extraction, transformation and loading in any tool or platform.
- Working knowledge of at least one of SQL, PySpark or Kusto Query Language (KQL).
- Some exposure to data integration and orchestration concepts such as pipelines and scheduling.
- Access to a Microsoft Fabric environment at work is recommended, so what your team learns transfers straight back into your own tenant.
Where this course fits in your team's Microsoft pathway
DP-700T00 is the data engineering half of the Microsoft Fabric pathway. Teams that are newer to querying and data platforms often start with DP-080T00, and DP-600T00 covers the analytics engineering half of the same platform.

FAQs
No. Microsoft courses through Upskilled Tech Academy are delivered as group training for businesses, not as on demand training for individuals. We schedule a dedicated cohort for your team, either virtually or on-site at your workplace. Get in touch and we will scope it with you.
Group size, dates and delivery mode are all part of the conversation with your Upskilled Education Consultant. Contact us with an approximate headcount and the outcome you are after, and we will put together a plan and a price for your organisation.
Yes. An exam voucher for Exam DP-700 is included with this course. Your team books the exam with Pearson VUE at a time that suits, once they are ready.
Any one of SQL, PySpark or Kusto Query Language (KQL) is enough to get started. The course uses all three in places, but nobody needs to be expert in all of them beforehand.
It depends on the role. DP-700 suits people who build the pipelines and platform, DP-600 suits people who model and serve the data. If your team owns both ends, DP-700 first is the more common order because it starts at ingestion.
The Microsoft Official Curriculum is set by Microsoft, so exam coverage stays complete. Within that, we can adjust the emphasis across the four days, use examples drawn from your industry, and keep discussion focused on the data problems your team is actually dealing with.
