Equip your data engineering team to build and run enterprise scale data solutions on Microsoft Fabric. DP-700T00 is a four day instructor led course covering the loading patterns, data architectures and orchestration processes behind a reliable analytics platform.

Delivered as dedicated group training for your organisation, the course moves from ingestion through to operations: loading data with Dataflows Gen2 and pipelines, working with Apache Spark and Delta Lake, organising a lakehouse using medallion architecture, handling streaming data with Real-Time Intelligence, and then securing, monitoring and administering the environment. It also prepares your team for the Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate certification.

What you need to know

This course is aimed at data professionals with existing data integration and orchestration experience, not at newcomers to data work. Participants should be comfortable manipulating and transforming data with at least one of SQL, PySpark or KQL. Over four days your team covers the material Microsoft sets for the DP-700 certification path, and works through it hands on in a lab environment rather than by watching demonstrations.

On completing the course your team will be prepared to sit Exam DP-700, the single requirement for the Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate certification. The exam runs for 100 minutes and is proctored through Pearson VUE, and an exam voucher is included with this course. 1. Ingesting data with Microsoft Fabric

Get data into Fabric reliably, using dataflows, pipelines, Spark and eventhouses, and orchestrate the movement between them.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, but it is written for people who already work with data. Your team will get the most from it with:

  • Experience with data extraction, transformation and loading in any tool or platform.
  • Working knowledge of at least one of SQL, PySpark or Kusto Query Language (KQL).
  • Some exposure to data integration and orchestration concepts such as pipelines and scheduling.
  • Access to a Microsoft Fabric environment at work is recommended, so what your team learns transfers straight back into your own tenant.

Any one of SQL, PySpark or Kusto Query Language (KQL) is enough to get started. The course uses all three in places, but nobody needs to be expert in all of them beforehand.

It depends on the role. DP-700 suits people who build the pipelines and platform, DP-600 suits people who model and serve the data. If your team owns both ends, DP-700 first is the more common order because it starts at ingestion.

The Microsoft Official Curriculum is set by Microsoft, so exam coverage stays complete. Within that, we can adjust the emphasis across the four days, use examples drawn from your industry, and keep discussion focused on the data problems your team is actually dealing with.
