of April 2009, Upskilled delivered its first classroom session for Certificate IV in Frontline Management in Bathurst, and now, 14 years and 40,000 students later, we have established ourselves as one of Australia's most reputable RTOs. As we celebrate our 14th birthday anniversary, it is time to reflect on our journey, acknowledge our achievements and look forward to the future.
Over the years, Upskilled
has faced many challenges, from navigating the ever-changing regulatory environment to adapting to technological advancements to being fully online now. However, we have always remained committed to providing high-quality education and training to our students and that commitment has been the driving force behind our success.
We are proud to have achieved many milestones along the way. We have expanded our course offerings, established partnerships with top industry leaders and won several awards and accolades
. But our success would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our team. From our trainers and assessors to our support staff, everyone at Upskilled is passionate about education and committed to providing the best possible experience for our students.
At Upskilled, we believe that a positive work-life balance is essential for the team's wellbeing and productivity. We have created a culture that values and prioritises work-life balance. We also foster a supportive and collaborative work environment, where everyone's ideas are valued and heard. Our team members love coming to work because they know they are part of a community that cares about their success and growth.
Here is what some of our longest serving members have to say about Upskilled:
I joined Upskilled during its start-up phase 14 years ago. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to wear many hats, from Operations and Sales Director to CEO and COO. What truly sets Upskilled apart is its people. The amazing members of the Upskilled family are the best thing about coming to work every day. From our dedicated trainers and support staff to our innovative leaders and strategic partners, everyone has played a vital role in helping Upskilled become the successful organisation it is today.
I want to give a shout-out to everyone who has been a part of the Upskilled family over the years. Your passion for helping others improve their lives through education has made Upskilled what it is today. I am truly grateful to have been a part of this incredible journey and cannot wait to see what the future holds for Upskilled.
Sadiq Merchant, Chief Operating Officer
Upskilled has always been such a fun place to work.Since day 1 we have always gone from strength to strength and that goes down to the many great staff we have employed over the years as well as Upskilled’s strong culture, our knowledge of the education sector and our technological capabilities. We have always taken great pride in ourselves that when a new staff member joins the organisation, they are actually joining the Upskilled Family.
Upskilled has always been a very social company looking for any excuse to celebrate anything like a win, an achievement, a milestone, an anniversary or even our birthdays! And yes, at every event, it has always been a lot of fun celebrating with our fellow Upskilled Family members. Happy 14th birthday Upskilled, cheers to the next 14 years!
Ben Grigor, General Manager Operations
I love Upskilled because there are no limits to what we can achieve. I started working on the phones in Sales then moved into Team Leader then into a Sales Management role. I just recently moved into People and Culture so now I get to work with the whole company. My passion is in coaching and development. The thing that has kept me here is that I am always growing, learning and getting better every day.
Richard Badolato, People and Culture Manager
I am beyond grateful for my journey with Upskilled, which started in August 2009 when I was just 19 years old. I have so many awesome memories of my time at Upskilled, but the best times were the celebrations. From birthday parties to Christmas parties, colleagues' milestones, dress-up days, and company trips, we always found ways to have fun together.
Despite the hectic pace, I loved every minute of it. It was not just about the work; it was also about the people. I worked my way up to become a Team Leader, then the Enrolments Manager, and now the Student Recruitment Development Manager. When I look back, I realise how fortunate I am to have accomplished so much and am grateful for all the opportunities I have had during my 14-year journey with Upskilled.
Amba Rees, Student Enrolment Manager
I am working as a Finance Manager at Upskilled. I started my rewarding career with Upskilled 12 years ago as Accounts Assistant. It has truly been a fun ride. The culture, opportunities and support to learn and grow has been second to none. I always feel part of an extended family which still makes me as excited as I was on the 1st
day of work. I am really looking forward to many many years to be part Upskilled family.
Abhi Jha, Finance Manager
As an Education Consultant at Upskilled from 2017 to 2020, I can say that the experience was nothing short of amazing. The culture and people at Upskilled make it a great place to work, and I felt supported and encouraged every step of the way. The team at Upskilled is made up of professionals who are not only knowledgeable but also genuinely care about the success of their colleagues and students.
What I appreciate the most about Upskilled is the healthy work environment it provides. The fun-loving and supportive culture fostered a sense of camaraderie that made going to work every day enjoyable. When Amba approached me to rejoin the team in 2023, I didn't hesitate to say yes. It was the culture and people that made me come back.
Shanta Jha, Education Consultant
