The Career Academy - Terms and Conditions

Partner-Delivered Short Courses

These terms apply to the non-accredited short courses that Upskilled markets and enrols you into, and that are delivered in partnership with The Career Academy (Career Academy Australia Pty Ltd). They sit alongside Upskilled's general Terms and Conditions. Where there is any conflict in relation to these partner-delivered short courses, the terms on this page apply. Please read them before you enrol.

1. About these terms

These terms govern your enrolment in a partner-delivered short course purchased through Upskilled. By completing the online enrolment and payment process, you accept these terms and form a binding agreement.

2. Partner delivery and roles

Upskilled handles your enrolment, payment, cancellations and refunds for these courses, and your invoice is issued by Upskilled Pty Ltd. The course is delivered by Career Academy Australia Pty Ltd (The Career Academy) through their online learning platform. The Career Academy provides your day-to-day learning and operational support and issues your Certificate of Completion. Upskilled remains available to assist with major issues or escalations. To deliver your course, we share the personal information needed to set up your enrolment with The Career Academy.

3. Non-accredited status

These are non-accredited short courses. They are not nationally recognised training and are not accredited by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) or issued under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). On successful completion, you receive a Certificate of Completion issued by Career Academy Australia Pty Ltd, which recognises the practical skills you have gained. Because recognition can vary by employer, industry body or country, we recommend you confirm any specific requirements with the relevant organisation before you enrol if you have a particular job, membership or study pathway in mind.

4. Enrolment confirmation and access date

Your enrolment is confirmed once your payment has been received. You will then receive a welcome email with your login details, and you can begin straight away. The date this welcome email is sent is your enrolment and access start date, and is the date we use for cancellations and refunds.

5. Course access period

You have 6 months of unlimited access to your course from your access start date. The course is 100% online and self-paced, so you can study whenever and wherever suits you. There are no exams.

6. Fees and payment

Course fees are payable in full to Upskilled Pty Ltd at the time of enrolment, and your invoice is issued by Upskilled Pty Ltd. Unless stated otherwise, prices are shown exclusive of GST, and GST is applied at checkout. A card payment surcharge may apply as set out in Upskilled's general Terms and Conditions. These courses are offered only with a single upfront payment, and no payment plans are available. If a payment plan option is introduced in the future, separate payment plan terms will apply and will be made available to you before you enrol.

7. Cooling-off period and refunds

You may cancel your enrolment within 7 days of your access start date (the date your welcome email is sent). If you cancel within this 7-day period, you will receive a refund of your course fee less an administration fee. The administration fee is $100 for a standalone course, or $200 for a double, bundled or combined course. For more details, please contact an education consultant at Upskilled.

After the 7-day period has passed, course fees are non-refundable, and no refund is payable. This does not limit your rights under clause 12 (Australian Consumer Law).

8. How to cancel

To cancel, contact Upskilled on 1300 009 924 or email studentsupport@upskilled.edu.au. Your cancellation takes effect from the date we receive your request, so please contact us as soon as possible if you wish to cancel within the 7-day period.

9. Changes to courses, prices and terms

We may update course content, schedules, prices and these terms from time to time, including to comply with State and Federal laws. Changes do not affect the price you have already paid for a current enrolment.

10. Your responsibilities

You agree to provide accurate enrolment information, to keep your login details secure, and to use the course materials and learning platform lawfully and only for your own learning. Access is for the enrolled student and must not be shared.

11. Intellectual property

All course materials, content and resources remain the property of The Career Academy or its licensors. They are provided for your personal study only and must not be copied, shared, resold or distributed without written permission.

12. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

13. Privacy and marketing

We collect your personal information, including your name, contact details and billing information, in order to enrol you and deliver your course. We share the information needed to deliver your course with The Career Academy, and may share information with service providers and debt-collection agencies where necessary. You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you and ask for it to be corrected. By enrolling or enquiring, you may receive updates from Upskilled, and you can opt out at any time. For more details, see Upskilled's Privacy Policy.

14. Dishonoured payments and debt recovery

If a payment is dishonoured or an account remains unpaid, you are responsible for any dishonour fees and reasonable costs we incur in recovering outstanding amounts, including collection and legal costs.

15. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, and subject to clause 12, Upskilled is not liable for changes in your personal or business circumstances that affect your ability to attend or complete a course. Where liability cannot be excluded, your remedies are limited to, and will not exceed, the course fee paid.

16. Complaints

If something is not meeting your expectations, please contact Upskilled by email at enquiry@upskilled.edu.au or studentsupport@upskilled.edu.au, or call 1300 009 924, and we will respond and work with you to resolve it.

17. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that State.

These short courses are non-accredited and are delivered by Career Academy Australia Pty Ltd. Upskilled Pty Ltd markets and enrols students into these partner-delivered courses.
