CHC32015 Certificate III in Community Services

Care workers provide assistance and care to patients with their daily activities, either in their homes, hospitals or aged care facilities. They are responsible for providing physical care and emotional support to patients.

Care workers need to be sensitive, caring and compassionate as well as be respectful of all individuals from different cultural backgrounds. They also need to be physically and mentally fit to undertake the demands of their role.

Personal Care Assistant

A personal care assistant provides help, support and care to patients in their daily activities directly in each client’s homes or in hospitals, aged care or healthcare organisations. They provide care for patients who are ill, aged or disabled by helping with daily activities like feeding, bathing, dressing, running errands and routine housekeeping.

Care Workers

Care workers work with people of all ages including the aged and those with disabilities. Care work can take place in a range of settings including people’s own homes, nursing homes and hospitals. Care workers are responsible for the physical care, emotional support and assistance of people with a variety of needs.
