Students will learn to facilitate business analysis and integrate sustainability in the planning and design of ICT projects. The course will also train them to manage various ICT services; develop cloud computing business strategies; and project and change management skills. Qualified individuals will be able to find opportunities in roles such as an information systems manager, information technology manager, chief information officer, and more.

    This course uses a blend of vendor specific, vendor neutral, and trainer-developed materials.

    Students will need access to a computer, and the internet, and have basic computing skills. A Language Literacy and Numeracy skills assessment may be required before enrolment can be confirmed.

    Preferred pathways for candidates considering this qualification may include:

    • Demonstrated vocational experience in a range of work environments such as Information Technology; Management; Project Management; and Administration & Business.
    • Successful completion of an Advanced Diploma in a related field of study
    • Provided evidence of a minimum of 7 years ICT industry experience
    • Hold Multiple Premier Vendor certification from any of the following vendors (Microsoft/Novell/Cisco/Citrix/Red Hat/CompTIA/IBM/HP/EC-Council/VMware)

    This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to direct internal and external information and communications technology (ICT) services within a medium to large organisation.

    Manage ICT services

    This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to apply the principles of service quality management and to develop a code of practice for information and communications technology (ICT) service management. It applies to individuals who work in senior management positions and manage a wide range of ICT projects, and lead the analysis, implementation and management of emerging, and converging, ICTs as they are integrated into the business process to support organisational strategic goals.

    Conduct a business case study for integrating sustainability in ICT planning and design projects

    This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to establish a business case to justify innovative implementation of sustainability in information and communications technology (ICT) planning and design projects, including accessing industry information and applying legislative guidelines. It applies to individuals who may be working in a role as a project manager, planner and designer, consultant or contractor and who has responsibility for conducting or managing ICT projects to plan and conduct cost–benefit analysis and return on investment for the implementation of sustainable schemes at the enterprise level.

    This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to develop a cloud computing strategy for establishing cloud computing services as a key business enabler. It applies to senior management, including strategic business analysts and chief information officers.
